It isnt that the realtone cable isnt good quality - it is. its 16 bit not 24 bit but really not many people will notice the difference (confession: i cant). if you use a buffer before the realtone cable, you will be able to record in pretty much as high quality as any interface you can buy. this doesnt matter so much for just playing rocksmith but for recording with the best quality you either need a soundcard/interface with hi impedance input instead of the realtone cable, or you want to run your guitar into a buffer to lower the guitars impedance before going into the realtone cable to match the impedance. this results in loads of the sparkly highs dying away.
